The Kingsgate shopping centre are to hold an event in May to celebrate the mining heritage of the area. It will be a comprehensive event with story telling, stalls, miners rescue service, an interactive area and choirs all being part of the event.
We have been asked to take part by having an exhibition of some 30 to 40 paintings of scenes depicting mining and associated activities. We will be allocated space in the “egg” on the same side as the Shopmobility unit.
The event runs from the 15th May 2017 when we would be required to set up.
Following on from this event, Dunfermline Delivers are to create a heritage walkway in the town centre and a selection of our pictures will be enlarged, weatherproofed and put on permanent display with acknowledgement to the club and the artists. A good quality digital image is required for this purpose.
So get painting and you could be one of those artists.
